Single vineyard Zieregg is an incredibly multifaceted vineyard site, which is characterized by limestone marl and coralline limestone soil. Due to its complex terroir, we have divided the vineyard into meanwhile 17 plots in order to be able to treat them selectively because of their individuality. Starting with vintage 2015, we have started vinifying and bottling these parcels/plots separately in order to illustrate the exciting diversity of this iconic vineyard. Limited to 10 boxes. First come first serve.

Appellation: Südsteiermark

Soil: Steep vineyard on a sea level of 330 - 490 m with an exposition facing South to Southwest. 15 million years ago the Paratethys Ocean covered South Styria and is remembered by majestic coralline limestone reef. The “Zieregg” vineyard is highly influenced by this distinctive sub soil. It goes without saying that the wines produced on this beautiful site get characteristics from its past as well. Expect profound and elegant wines with a whole lot of structure, distinctiveness and great aging potential.

More than 15 years ago we started taking the first steps towards organic farming. We are now in the phase to convert to biodynamics. A logical step for us and a beginning without end. Every year we learn something new, observe nature and get closer to it bit by bit. We see our business as a form of modern circular economy in which wine is part of an overall concept. Partnerships with horse and cattle farmers have just as much space here as the use of the company’s own forest for energy production. Wine as a way of life.
